About

A school with a workbench, not a lecture hall

Bit to Board · Learn embedded systems through projects.

Bit to Board exists because of a gap every embedded engineer knows: the internet is full of explanations, and nearly empty of guided builds. You can read about Zigbee clusters for a week and still freeze the first time a device refuses to join your network. The fix isn't more content. It's a project with stakes, in the right order, with someone checking the path ahead of you.

So every course here is one real product, built end to end: the sensor, the network, the update mechanism, the packet captures. Concepts show up when the build demands them. Shortcuts that would embarrass you in a product review don't make the cut. Debounce is done properly, updates are signed, rollback is rehearsed before it's needed.

The instructor

The courses are written and maintained by a working embedded firmware engineer with ten years in the field, consumer and industrial products, Nordic and Zephyr daily, and a home lab that has strong opinions about lighting. No presenter-reading-a-script, no outsourced content farm: the person who answers support email is the person who built every lab.

Verified, not vibes

Every code step in every course is compiled from a pristine build against the pinned SDK before publication, 25 verified build steps in the Zigbee course alone. What's verified is stated plainly, and so is the boundary: on-hardware behaviour is checked against a written desk checklist, which ships inside the course so you can re-run every check yourself.
